Be Genuine & Authentic… You Are Enough

doesn't everyone need a gorgeous pink leather jacket! I love this one

As a fashion blogger I find it a little hard to fully express myself… to find my “voice” as the blogger community likes to call it. I always want to be my genuine & authentic self and feel confident that I am enough… Does that make sense or does it sound a little confusing?

It’s probably a little bit of the comparison game… I am on social media a lot sharing my posts, beautiful instagram pics, replying to comments, commenting on other posts.  I know I am genuine, with a good heart and sharing my authentic self with you. But there is a side of me that watches all these amazing bloggers post gorgeous photos, have crazy followings and seem to have all these brands wanting to work with them… I am in awe of them, what they are doing, their photos and want to someday be comparable to them… But that beautiful perfect photo doesn’t really match with my WHY…

My “WHY” has aways been to share with you my love for fashion, how you can take what you have in your wardobe and be creative with it, that even if you work from home you can be fashionable, that after kids you can get out of that mom funk and feel beautiful (yes i know you are beautiful but sometimes yoga pants, unwashed hair, no makeup, I could go on, just takes a toll on you).

My pictures may not compare to the beautiful, perfectly polished, professional photography, I may have to run out in the cold to take my photos with a tripod and freeze (and with this weather it sure has been FREEZING!!), but they are real. I have always said I want to be real. To be attainable. I love to look at these gorgeous photos but how real is that? and what did it cost to have a photographer take them all? Edit them all? And how many people look at these perfect photos and think that it is a comparable reality for them? I know after kids and still to this day it’s not real for me lol.

Real to me is finding jeans that fit right for my body, that don’t allow any over hang…

Being terrified to wear a swimsuit on instagram or my blog… I see you ladies doing it and you look FABULOUS! This girl has some goals… mom fabulous goals but for now I’m working on it.

Shopping what is my closet and being realistic about a shopping budget… How on earth do some of these bloggers always have the cutest newest clothes that they can send you to the store shopping for… How often do you shop and what do you spend on it?

Sharing with you what I truly love and think you will love.

Encouraging you to shop your own closet but if you really want to recreate a look giving you options to find similar items.

I promise with this blog I will work hard to keep my genuine voice and not let the comparison game enter into my REAL life goals. I promise to always be authentic. To always share my true self and encourage you to do the same.

I am enough
You are enough
What we have is enough.
We have struggles.
We Have Successes.
Each Needs To Be Celebrated
We are REAL, GENUINE, & BEAUTIFUL on the inside and out.

I hope this is the perfect start to your Monday!

I’d love for you to Comment below, Subscribe to my blog & Share with your friends!
Have a lovely week!!
XO Jen

Hi Jen! I too can relate to your feelings. It is a delicate balance of being in social media but not getting caught up in the comparison game. I agree with you in finding your voice and staying true to that guidance. It has helped me so much! You are an inspiration to me! I admire you on so many levels and applaud you with your authenticity and passion to change the lives of women. Keep up the good work and stay focused on your vision!!! This post is so powerful and gives the assurance to keep going too!

You are so right! It’s so easy for us to get caught up in what everyone else is doing and comparing ourselves to them. But, as long as we continue to be our authentic selves and stay true to our beliefs then we are right on target with what we have to offer, which is plentiful. What I always say is, stay true to you and everything will line where they should. Great post! Xoxo
