When I first started blogging I was alone for a long time. Of course you meet bloggers on social media and can connect that way and share blogging stories, successes and war wounds which is great but it’s not the same. Luckily I met my lovely friend Kim from @fashionablereststop on Instagram and we decided to get together for a coffee. Kim & I hit it off right away and she introduced me to a group of amazing Edmonton blogger babes that meet once a month for brunch. These ladies have taught me so much about blogging, the Edmonton blogging community and have created such a supportive empowering group of women.
This past Sunday was our June brunch held at Central Social Hall in Edmonton and organized by the lovely Robin from @myclosetjourney , This might also be one of my favourite brunches for a few reasons.
1. This room was filled with 25 AMAZING bloggers and photographers who are so excited to see you and welcome you.
2. For a self proclaimed decor fanatic the room was so so pretty! Everyone got to take home an arrangement and succulent pot from Charmed Floral Design, there were balloons everywhere, glittery backdrops and OMG Central Social Hall is the perfect backdrop with how beautiful it is there!
3. THE FOOD!! OMG I need to brunch more often! I ate everything! Seriously everything and I was given full servings of every single dish that we had to share with one other person. It was so worth it and I would do it again in a heart beat! That good! Thank you Central Social Hall for creating such delicious food and drinks!!
FYI the picture above is comical! This is how we want to take photos of our gorgeous food in public but fear people will look at us like we are crazy… However at the blogger brunch it is expected!
Ok so now that I have raved about the food let me show you and tell you a little bit about each item since I took photos of every single one of them. You know it’s good when… So the first image below was the menu we were given, super cute! I’ll share each item on the menu.
Mimosa Welcome! Now this is how I like to be greeted!!
My absolute favourite thing that wasn’t a cocktail, the Belgian Waffles! These are house made and incredibly fresh! I would order these again and again!
Avocado + Tomato Benny, Oil Country Benny & Crispy Potatoes!
I never pick Eggs Benedict because I’m not a fan of hollandaise sauce however at Central Social Hall they use a white cheddar sauce that is amazing! My favourite was the Oil Country Benny!
This one is my favourite drink and will be featured in the near future! For now just know that it is my absolute favourite for sure!
The Cucumber Gimlet
Such a light and refreshing cocktail! It has Hendricks Gin, House Kim Cordial, Soda, Fresh Cucumber and a pinch of salt! Already sounds perfect!
Albacore Tuna Tataki + Won Tons
These were super good! I am a huge fan of Tuna so just love! I found this was the most delicious when you start with the won ton, add wasabi aioli, then tuna and top it off with the avocado, picked ginger and cucumber mixture! It was definitely the best that way!
The Beautiful Salad!
Clearly the name of this salad tells it all! I mean look at those colours and just how beautiful it is! I loved how this salad was explained, that it was all about ribbons! Everything was cut so thinly and the carrots were ribbons, the radish was so good and delicious. Definitely a beauty!
Dessert Is Served!
You know I’m a dessert girl which is maybe why I have so many photos of them!
So let’s chat about each one.
NUTELLA CHEESECAKE! this totally had that nutella flavour and the oreo cookie crumble was delish!
I also loved the Lemon Cream Pie and Seasonal Fruit Crumble. Honestly I’m a dessert gal so I loved all of them and depending on your mood they would be great to maybe have a different one each night!
Thank you so much to Robin for putting it together and for Central Social Hall for sponsoring our Babes Who Brunch Event!
My question now is which food or drink item are you craving?
