I think with how crazy busy I have been lately, the launch of my own clothing line and the cold cold winter weather I feel like I slightly lost myself. Lost in overwhelm, stress and anxiety mixed together with the winter blues of being cold all the time, bundled up to the max and life on repeat… Am I the only one that gets like that? I started throwing on whatever I could find in the morning in my rush to get going. I was choosing sleeping in over getting up and ready before the kids get up in the morning and I stopped taking care of myself.
I TOTALLY believe in taking the time for yourself, to dress for yourself, do your hair for yourself, your makeup for yourself and appreciating yourself. I wasn’t doing that. I was lost. Honestly it was just lately that I kinda felt like I fell out of that winter blues and started getting my “sparkly mom/wife/entrepreneur/me” back. Even though I wear a winter coat ALL THE TIME doesn’t mean that what is underneath that coat doesn’t make me feel like a rock star taking on the day. It’s so important to remember that and appreciate that.
I wanted to share that because it is so true and I’m hoping no one is going through that feeling BUT if you are then know you are not alone. I’m going to be glamming myself up for myself at home where I work because I can. Helping me glam it up with this super cute Picadilly Canada jacket (Yay a Canadian Clothing Line!!) created the most amazing jacket that I am adoring so so much!! I would say that it is too light for our cold cold days but perfect for cool days. It’s also light enough that I would treat it more like a cardigan than a jacket blazer type but with the blazer look. This also makes it perfect putting under your winter jacket which is also a huge plus! I seriously dislike stuffing a blazer under a jacket just so you can have that look but you feel like you can barely more without busting your jacket seems!
I paired it with another Picadilly top that has this pretty keyhole detail, a flared bottom and high low hemline. It has a black tank top that comes with it underneath and then the sheer top. I love the peplum type of look and the high low hem, it’s a great blouse that you could easily wear every day like I did with my distressed denim or paired with some cute coloured trousers. Since I am more of a casual style, work from home and even fancy occasions I still gravitate to jeans I paired it with my favourite distressed denim jeans from Elle’s Closet Boutique. The perfect denim jeans and that jacket make this outfit an absolute favourite!!
Make sure to take a peek at today’s instagram story because I am planning on sharing how I styled these jeans and this blazer even more casually but so perfect for treating yourself at home, feeling glam and so comfortable at the same time!
- Picadilly Canada Princess Seam Zip Front Jacket,
- Picadilly Keyhole Flared Top,
- Elle’s Closet Distressed Articles of Society Jeans,
- Handbag found at Marshall’s, similar same brand
- Black Booties also found at Marshall’s – This brand I am loving and I did find similar boots at different price points.
1. Really similar and on for $99 from $200,
2. These booties are again really similar but have a floral embellishment. I’m liking this brand so much I am considering getting these OTK boots without ever trying them… Should I? They are regular $150 on for $55… I believe that is US but that is a great deal!
If I haven’t peaked your interest yet with the amazing Picadilly Canada than maybe some of these items I am eye might help 😉
Hope you like today’s style and feel inspired to kick those winter blues to the curb… even if your curb is like mine and full of snow! We got this and we can feel glam even if the most people see is our winter jackets. It’s all for us!
