There are people in the world that when you meet them they leave you feeling so empowered in your life. No matter if it is going after your goals, battling with something that is really tough or working to spread a message. When I first met Jessica Tetu on Instagram a few years ago I was already really inspired by her and her achievements. It wasn’t until I had the chance to meet her one day for brunch, this is a lady that happened to be in Edmonton in even though she had a busy schedule made time to meet with me. I was in a very dark place when I met her, battling with depression and not being able to find my way out. It was after my meeting with her that I was able to see the light and pull myself out of the dark hole I was in. My depression came with fear and the inability to step out of my comfort zone for fear of failure. When I met with Jess she made me realize that my fear was nothing compared to the challenges she had faced. Challenges she faced with nothing to back her up. I feel very blessed to have a supportive husband, family that have my back and a decent base to be launching a business. She had nothing.
So I write this because I wanted to personally invite you to an event I am hosting on September 12 from 6-9 PM featuring the amazing, inspiring and empowering Jessica Tetu.
This is an event and person that I hold so dear to my heart because of the inspiration she has given me and I want to share it with as many people as possible. Jess Tetu will 100% leave you feeling inspired in life, encouraged to push your business past where you thought was possible and ready to take on anything that comes your way. To give you a little bit of background behind Jess and what she has created I shared a bit below which is inspiring but it’s nothing like hearing it from her personally and then you will have the chance to grill her on how she did it and ask specific questions.
Jessica is a woman to be admired and someone that you must see to give yourself that shot of empowerment and inspiration. I want to give you a bit of information about her so you can see a glimpse of what she has created and overcame.
When Jess was 15 she left the house with nothing but a backpack and bus ticket. She came from a family dealing with addiction and decided to head out on her own.
She began working for Just for you day spa and in 2011 she bought the spa from its previous owner. Now it wasn’t just a let me buy your spa kind of a deal. It was the deal that was meant to ensure she never got to keep the spa. I won’t go into details as that will be Jess’s job at the event but she decided that this deal that was meant for her to lose was not going to happen. She hustled. And she hustled hard. And not just hustled hard but outside of the box hustled hard. I remember hearing all the things she did and being kinda shocked that she even thought to do what she did. She ended up keeping the spa and turning it into a very successful business that now has multiple locations.
Jess then went on to create Lia Reese Canada which is how I first discovered Jess. Lia Reese is of course Canadian and an incredibly amazing skincare and makeup line. I have loved it ever since I first tried it and been such an advocate for this Canadian brand and it’s owner.
Jess doesn’t stop there. She is the cofounder of E306 where she mentors and educate small business owners on how they can create success in their business. Giving back to the community is so important to her and as she once said “if you don’t give back then why should anyone give to your business?”
Just recently she also created 471 Recovery Services a foundation dedicated to supporting victims of addiction and their families. Growing up dealing with this has been a struggle for Jess and she wanted to give back so she created this foundation which just hosted their first fundraiser.
Jess has also just been awarded Top 40 Under 40 in Canada which is such an accomplishment but also one that is incredibly deserved. She works hard for her businesses, for women empowerment, to give back to the community and is such a genuine soul.
I created this event because it is important to me to give back to my small business community. A place that has helped me grow, supported each other and teaches us all that anything is possible.
I hope you will join us for this event to be beautifully empowered but also to strengthen our Edmonton small business community. We have so much to achieve and accomplish and we are stronger doing it together and uplifting each other.
Please purchase your ticket here to be a part of an evening to remember.
