Have you ever considered Microblading your eyebrows? This summer I had mine microbladed and I absolutely LOVE them!! I also happened to take videos of the whole process so I am super excited to share with you some photos and videos of the before, during and after.
The reason I decided to microblade my eyebrows is because there wasn’t a whole lot to my eyebrows to start with. The picture above on the left is actually them before when they were shaded in with a gel. Without some shading or gel they are pretty well non existent and there was no shape to them, my tiny little arch wasn’t doing much. At my consult we went over what I wanted which to be honest I didn’t know… i just assumed she would tattoo what I had. She took what I wanted and showed me that on one eye. Then on the other eye she did what she thought would look best for my eye shape and face. The difference was crazy! What I thought I wanted was pretty much what I had, but then I had no idea what was possible either. What she suggested made it look like I had a facelift and my eyes were way more open and they looked so good. I was hesitant, what she recommended was a big change and would require plucking what eyebrows I had so maintain the shape. What if I hated them? Would those plucked brows ever come back? We settled on a middle ground arch and I booked my actual appointment. Panic set in on the drive home, was I being crazy in doing this? I had to call my friend who had just gotten hers done and she calmed me down. Her eyebrows looked amazing after, she loved them and I loved them.
Fast forward to my appointment, nerves were crazy and I was expecting it to hurt like crazy… Don’t tattoos hurt a lot? With microblading they use a numbing cream and I could not feel a thing! If you watched the video you can see me smiling and chatting away while she is tattooing… Clearly it was completely ok. Oh and I did switch and go with the eyebrows she recommended… My friends were gorgeous so I knew I would love mine too.
Right afterwards they look good but again I was apprehensive… I have just altered my face, they were dark… like really dark and wide. The wideness does go away as the swelling from your tattoo settles. I took me 2 days to relax about how they looked… they start to lighten up and thin out and I really started to get super happy about them. Just like any tattoo they did scab and flake off, for me they left skin without a tattoo… I kind of panicked but was reassured that the new skin just didn’t know what to do with the ink and they did eventually appear.
I’m now due for my 8 week touch up, I have had them almost all summer and I LOVE them so much. I love waking up to pretty much done brows, I absolutely LOVE the shape of them, thank goodness I let her shape them the way she recommended. If I could go back and do it again I would definitely do it. I’ll keep you posted on how they look after the 8 week touch up as well. If you have any questions at all please leave a comment below and I will answer any questions you might have.
